The condition of the roads in many cities are in a pathetic condition. Either they are full of potholes or they are dusty and bumpy. In fact in the hilly terrains leading to the highways, there would be so many accidents because of roads being washed away due to heavy rains. And of course, when there is an unusually heavy monsoon, an entire state would be cut off from the rest of the country.
Bad roads are only part of the problem. If it is not bad roads, it is power cuts throughout the year, not doing anything to reduce pollution, not providing a safe country for women, bad network connections in interior parts etc. The list is endless. The above mentioned issues barely scratch the surface. There are many more which could be added.
Everyone pays taxes to the Government in so many forms. Don’t you ever stop and think what the Government is doing with the your hard earned money?
The problem is lack of interest by the people thenselves and lack of accountability by our elected representatives. We the people should rise up and hold them accountable to the promises made, to the party manifesto. It is in our hands to motivate our elected representatives to deliver on their promises. In order to do that, we have to use the power of the ballot and choose wisely.
